Johanna & Esther Mirabel will delve into the urban memory of Miami’s Caribbean diasporas. Through a sensitive, sculptural mapping of collective rituals, they will examine connections between space, identity, and transmission.

Winner for the CPGA-Etant donnés Prize, by Villa Albertine, The French Institute for Culture and Education, and CPGA (French Committee of Art Galleries).
Artist Johanna Mirabel and Galerie Nathalie Obadia (Paris, Brussels) have been awarded the Prix CPGA – Etant donnés 2024. Awarded for the third time this year, the prize recognizes the artistic contributions of a living artist, French or based in France, exhibiting at Art Basel Miami Beach, as well as his/her gallery. The prize is a joint initiative of the Comité professionnel des galeries d’art (CPGA) and Villa Albertine, a cultural institution that promotes artistic and intellectual exchanges between the United States, France and other countries.

The winner will be announced on October 17, 2023. He or she will be offered a studio at La Ruche for one year, and a €15,000 prize for a solo exhibition at the Galerie Nathalie Obadia in 2024, partner of this year’s event.
